GSP centered tank setup

I'm about to move to a bigger appartment and the idea has always been to get a bigger aquarium and setup a planted tank with SAPs. Now I'm not so sure anymore

Say I keep my Juwel rio 300 (48" long, 90g), get it drilled and house one or two GSP in it. I'm not keen on having a FOWLR if I invest the money on a sw tank so what would my options be really? I've read soft corals are a hit and miss as are tank buddies. I'm really estimating the risk of getting stuck with a FOWLR with only a GSP in it.

Macroalgae will be in the display as would seagrass if I wasn't such a sw noob. In the distant future a separate refugium would problably make it in the system as well.

What kind of snails to you brred for a GSP? Ramshorns or are there sw snails you can breed in a fuge?
The fish is adorable but I will not go down that route if I'm not sure it'll work out for both of us.

If you wish to have a s/w tank i would strongly recommend live rock. You could probably have some leathers in there (they seem to taste bad so i hear) However if you already have doubts i would not suggest buying this fish.

I meant I don't want to end up with only live rock and nothing else. Live rock is a must have.

There has been some success with certain tankmates just ensure the gsp is the last in the tank. I plan my tanks around a certain fish, everything else has to work round that fish . Best bet decide where you want to go with the tank and which fish is a must, go fom there. Sounds like a gsp is on the cards though

Im going to be putting corals in with my GSP in a few months, but luckily I know a guy that is over run with corals and is going to give me frags to put in my tank. So if they get eaten I wont be out money just time

I am thinking about trying out corals as well with my GSP. My puffer has a tendancy to taste everything that is new though . Only at 1.017 at the moment though but next water change will put me close enough to start looking around for sizable live rock chunks to put in some buckets.

Though for some reason my puffer leaves Dwarf Red Legged Hermits alone. Another hermit I had of a different species was slowly eaten over the course of a week.
