"I always had a love for fish and aquariums."

Or perhaps you mean "self-serving fascination"? Because that's not "love" in my book.

I'm on an animal cruelty RAMPAGE today. Declawing got my blood boiling early in the day, and now I'm 100% pissed.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

My boyfriend is watching this right now and I had to walk away.

This show 100% about profit for them. They obviously have no respect for any of the fish they're dealing with.

I just watched them take a shoe off a guy's foot and slap some cement on it to throw it in a tank. :/ Even if I hope for the best and they they somehow made it safe for a fish tank isn't that just telling the average person that it's okay to throw whatever you want in the tank.

And I also haven't seen them cycle a tank, or even mention the process, it's just fill up the tank, throw the fish in and call it a day.

(Also that shark tank didn't look anywhere near big enough for all those sharks and the ray... And the tank they keep showing in the background of the interviews- I've spotted at least 4 large puffers in there, along with tons of other things... there's just no way it's big enough to house all that)

Defiantly will not be watching this again. /rage

I watched it once and it looks like all they know how to do is build aquariums and throw fish in them... They are really annoying to listen to. I don't like the show at all. I'll agree they make cool looking tanks, but I think they know little to nothing about how to treat fish and exactly how to take care of them. Also the car tank, they gave to some dude as a surprise, I wonder if the dude realizes how costly it will be to maintain that tank correctly and what to feed all those fish and how... Its just plain stupid.
Those who say money can't buy happiness don't know where to find puffers.

Im downloading it right now to see just how bad it is. It looks like a big reality/drama show. 5 minutes of tank building, 25 minutes of the family fighting with each other.

I like what they do. Do not agree on how they do it. Don't forget it is for profit and it is not an informational documentary or anything like that it is show for entertainment. Still upsets me. If someone picked up my puffer I would slap them in the face!

I really didnt like how they were pulling all these fish out of the tanks at the wholeseller with their bare hands and rubbing them. The show was entertaining but at the same time it just seems like itll get old, fast. Its like Orange Co. Choppers with fish. imo

My wife and I were watching the premier last night, and were actually quite shocked. The show is more about drama than the fish. Reminded me of Pit Boss in that way...

I say we stand up and give our beloved puffers the right to vote for their rights!... or something like that.

In all seriousness though, it's just wrong what they're doing.
It's a crayfish! It's a snail! It's a... ah who cares?
Nom nom nom!...

Tank: 4 liter custom-shaped sphere
Contents: 1 Brainfish
Ph: 7.4
Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates: ?
Problem: Cloudy/muddy water
Can you help me?

Every time I see the commercials now I get annoyed. I will be writing to Animal Planet about it because at their heart they are trying to be informative, just sometimes they put out shows with stuff that will harm rather than help. The tanks are interesting and all, but I agree that the main point is the family troubles--which is wholly annoying, I can see that stuff on every other channel xD

Not that you CAN see it on every channel, it's that you DO see it on every channel. imo
