Male DP doesn't seem to eat

Post by Salmon »

Well when I put bloodworms in he only tries to get the ones in his partners mouth. She eats everything, but the only thing I can get him to eat is snails. He sucks snails right of the shells its fun to watch. Anyway I was wondering what other foods I can attempt feeding him. I've tried plankton, but didn't watch to see if he ate it I was leaving. anyway I've got 3 foods currently, plankton, bloodworms, and snails. I don't really know what else to try that I have. I've got freeze dried foods, which include bloodworms, brine shrimp, and baby shrimp. I also have some kind of bottom feeder shrimp tablets and tablets that are green with colored speckles that I'm not sure exactly what they are. So suggestions?

On another note I've decided to name him Milo, mainly after the guy from the Atlantis cartoon movie, I'm thinking Millie for the girl, but I'm not entirely sure yet.

My DPs love bloodworms, but they also happily eat frozen (thawed) mysis shrimp. Live blackworms were also a HUGE hit with all of them.

If you have enough small snails to feed regularly, that's a great diet for them too.

Many LFS carry them -- just call around a bit. Mine sells blackworms as well as live brine shrimp (which I've given the DPs as a treat, and they went CRAZY for them!).
