How much does a sheet of acrylic cost and how thick should you get in order to make a tank?

woah, that seems pretty pricey. Good thing you got that tank for practically free right?

First pic is a picture i just snuck of smudge while he was sleeping. The people that owned the tank before me must have had a habbit of sitting heavy stuff or dropping stuff on the top of the tank because under the top trim the glass was chipped up in quite a few places.

Looks great! You should be feeling really good right about now. Any thoughts of attempting an entire tank in the future?

Hmm, possibly. I read about it and apparently its alot more difficult than replacing a single side. Maybe after ive had this tank fixed and running for a while ill decide to upgrade and attempt to build my own.. Ill probably build a 5 gallon or something small first to see how that turns out. I felt so accomplished after i got those dastardly trims off the tank even though im not even 1/4 the way finished with the whole tank. lol

Repairing that tank is even more impressive of an accomplishment since you only have one arm!

So what you gonna do? Replace the whole cracked glass or patch it up with other glass?

nice job on the replacement ... if you want to do a custom DIY build... go with acrylic.
if you follow me, you avoid stepping in the crap that I just did...

i was going to just patch it but after getting the trim off and seeing how bad it was cracked i figured id just replace the whole broken piece.

I can still use my broke hand since only half of it is in a cast but i only have use of 2 fingers. Its a little help, for like holding small things, but its almost more of a burden. lol

Thank you all so far for all your input and for all the praise! :D
