Sounds Cool , But from what i can see all you really need is a round tank with an under gravel filter . I would be a little concerned since they dont tell you to cycle the tank just put your saltwater in and add the seeded gravel THEY send you!

Ive heard before that if you use LR that your tank is cycled almost immediately. Ive never done salt so I dont know from first hand but thats what ive heard before

There are some kreisel designs out there but nothing as good looking as this one. It may well be worth the $$

Its definatly looks like its worth the money , remote led lights and the cool looking design! I found a bunch of info out there on how to make your own .From what I read the jellies are hard species to care for though !

The issues with jellies in not that they are "hard" - if am allowed to pun - it is that they are soft. Even in vertical tube taks you need a circular current to keep them away from the walls. The same issues as occured in SW vertebrate breeding with pelagic larvae, and they are "harder" than jellies. Torque and sheer issues are non-trivial - issues I also had back in my lab days. One high-torque pulse can destroy a culture.

But I think that it looks interesting and I would love to have one. The apparent current is actually quit interesting looking - a simple potential solution if it works long-term in practice. And then there is the question of how long "long-term" is for jellies. In the wild they are not long-lived creatures.

But jellies are so elegant! Like corals and anemones, they are alien lifeforms of surpassing elegance and beauty but they add grace in movement to their beauty.

the only fault I can see in the design of this product VS other kreisel designs is the air at the top.

It would create a bouncing effect and not be completely circular. Any choice of specimen would be appreciated especially if it can be cultivated in the home environment. That is a HUGE leap forward and a very large IF attached to it.

The bubbles do not bother me - that disturbance is certainly closer to natural than laminar flow. How often do you see plate glass smooth surface conditions?

I would suspect that reproduction in hobby units would require much greater volumes, but that is pure guess.
