DP questions

Post by Salmon »

I'll be getting 2 Dwarf Puffers from a friend who no longer wants them, my 10 gallon will be available for them but its currently at 1.003 SG. Can DPs survive in this or should I start bringing the SG down asap?

Is the tank established? If not you could just wash it out cycle it and you are good to go. If you have already cycled you would be best to lower sg slowly to allow bacteria to survive.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

tank has been cycled for awhile now, and since the SG is at 1.003 going to 1.000 shouldn't harm the bacteria I thought.

Max recommended change .002 per week. Not worth rushing and spoiling.
