F8 with colbalt coloured pupils?

Post by Sylar_92 »

Hey guys I recently moved my F8 into a 50gal bowfront and thought he looked a bit lonely. I went to my LFS today and skimmed through the puffer section seeign that only one puffer was left. The puffer looked like a F8 but with more vivid and colourful patterning. I put a hold on it right away since it was the last one and told the store that I would pick it up some time during the week. I noticed the pupils of the puffer were dark blue and reflected a colbalt shine off them when it moved around in the light. I was wondering if the puffer is turning blind, the puffer was interactive when I walked up to the tank and even chased my fingers around which gave me mixed signals. What do you guys think?

I think it's normal for fish to reflect interesting colors from their eyes. My DPs sometimes had blue or copper pupils.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Look at our Pufferpedia for the T fluviatilis, just to be sure it isn't the Ceylon puffer. They very closely resemble the T biocellatus (F8).

Yes, now that I have reviewed the pictures. The one I put a hold on looks like the Ceylon puffers owned by Cindy and vurphy.

Will you be setting up a separate tank for him?

Your goal should be getting him into a 55g.
