Hey Everyone!
This is my first post at this forum (as far as i can remember), and im going to use it for a question.
Ive had a fahaka for a few years now, and ive been buying snails (3-6$ each..) periodically to give to him.
Im a little tired of spending so much money for snails so i set up a planted tank to breed snails to save some money.
Im wondering (because i cant seend to find the info anywhere else) how long it takes for the baby snails to grow
to about the size of a cherry or so.
Has anyone else bred snails for puffer dinner?

Re: Mystery Snails
By mystery snails I am assuming you mean apple snails. Here is a link I use for any information I need about apple snails. http://www.applesnail.net/content/care.php

Mystery snapil and apple snails should be different critters.

Re: Mystery Snails
Thanks JP.
Looks like around 2-5 months, hopefully closer to the two mark.
If it ends up taking forever for them to grow to a decent meal size then I will probably stick to buying a few here and there,
He gets fed krill, crayfish (store bought, and river caught), clams/muscles, pellets, a very rare feeder fish, blood worm, and everything else under the sun pretty much. So its not as if I need to breed any snails, just thought it may save me a few bucks and the time it takes me to go to the LFS.

Re: Mystery Snails
RTR the the ones typically labeled as gold mystery snails that I find most commonly at LFS's are usually Pomacea Bridgesii which is why I suspected that he was probably dealing with apple snails. Perhaps I am wrong, though
