Re: sun sun
This leads me to believe mine is definately faulty, or I am doing something very wrong. Xray what am I doing wrong? I am priming it as I would my eheims and they go straight away
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Xray said he filled it entirely with water in the sink first.
I'm not sure how an eheim is primed, but I know I don't have to fill the marineland canister up much at all for it to work.

Re: sun sun
+1 for Eheims too.A hint I read on another site to priming is to fill the canister up before you try and prime it. I just filled mine up in the sink then put the top on and connected everything. Worked great.

Re: sun sun
I just attached the intake i constructed out of redundant Eheim parts and wow, why didnt i do this in the first place. My gut instinct was to use my own but i thought no. So in summary good product but rubbish intake, i could not get it airtight but with a cheap modification its a piece of cake.

Awesome, glad to hear yours is working well now.
And I agree with your idea. good product with crappy intake and outlet. Well worth the money to me

Re: sun sun
If you get a 2" piece of eheim hose and an eheim intake tube tube and strainer it just pushes together perfectly and works amazing. All you use is the curved part from the sun sun.
