sun sun
just this second purchased a brand new sun sun 1000gph with uv, will upload pics of the setup. kept twitching onto eheim but figured worth a go for £50. so gonna run it on my big aquarium for a little while to blast with uv to clear waterbourne algae etc (is that what u call it) and to give bacteria chance to start to colonise before new setup is ready (as i seem to have a skill recently of smashing tanks ( 3 down. 1 cracked itself i smashed the other 2, not good!) so now gonna figure out how to add pics to post. will update as this happens

Re: sun sun
ok here we go push together input and output pipes of inferior quality, no adaptibility to suit anything but the most basic aquarium. no flow rate even close to what they say , i could suck more through 10 meters of tubing and to cap it off i have to pay to return this big tarp bbag of walrus that i spent my hard earned money on i would spend 10x what i spend on my eheims if it would put this company under. the whole thing is just not even worth £! i hate it hate it hate it do not buy

Re: sun sun
so in conclusion ( have pics if neeeded) go for eheim or fluval etc. i would advise against trying to save money buying this surlaW just save a little more and buy a filter which will filter your system. i tried putting it on a stool on top of aquarium etc these dont work. if you get one that does work i would not trust any of the pipes or connections in the box. plus as stated before you only get maybe a third of the filter media you need. as an eheim regular i just dont understand why anyone would buy these, my curiosity got the better of me and i wanted to try it, now i wasted hours of my life i wont get back trying to get the worst made piece of crap working i have ever seen. if it worked ok then fine i bought something that works and i dont like but it was walrus total wank

Re: sun sun
You say yours has no adaptability? Mine has all the adaptability in the world. The intake is 3 separate pieces to make it what ever length I want, the return spray bar is 4 pieces to adjust the length. I figure once I get mine set up length like I like I will just use some sort of sealant so they wont come apart, I already have some aquarium sealant laying around so that should work.
I havent tested out the flow yet, so I cant really say anything about that yet.
And the lack of media is annoying but for the price thats not big deal.

Are you sure that yours is primed correctly?

Re: sun sun
all joined parts have to be under water on intake or it sucks in air and doesnt prime so u have to fill to within 2" of top plus have 3d background so once cut that back etc etc got running and would rather run nothing than have this pile of poo in my house. it is the worst pile of walrus i have ever bought . i would rather spend 100% what i spent on this than own one ever again. buy an eheim or fluval. you know what buy anything but this anything. internal even, just dont buy these
