Bristle Worm
Sooo... Found a bristle worm in my 10g LR culture tank. Seen about 1.5'' of it come outta the rocks. Its whitish-pink with black bristles. I freaked out and did a LITTLE research that didn't ease my mind any... So I made 2 traps and after a week, no success. Upon further, and IN DEPTH study online, it seems that there's a fairly divided opinion on whether these guys are a big deal pestwise, or beneficial. So if anyone has good/bad experiences please relate them. At this point I'm of a mind to just introduce his home ( a piece of fiji live rock ) into my main tank. Occupants are: 3 hermit crabs, unknown number of baby stars ( brittle and pest ) and one baby ocellarus Clown. I have a Saddled Toby on order that's going in there soon. I doubt that Leto Atreides (what I named the "wurm") could be much of a bother to either fish, and don't worry too much about the other inhabitants ( I mean, c'mon, I'm putting a Toby with the crabs lol ) so unless I'm missing something here... Also planning on getting a Bubble-Tip nem for Columbo ( the Clown ). Any response would only deepen my reserves of factioids to enable me to decide!
29 Gallon Marine tank, with refugium, skimmer. Base rock, coral skeletons. Stock: Baby Ocellaurus Clown, young Saddled Toby, 3 Hermit crabs,one 2 inch Bristle Worm, hitch hiking starfish.
10g Biotope. 3 C. Travancoricus (Dwarf Puffer) Some Ghost shrimp, gravel/sand substrate, heavily planted with Swords and Java Moss.
10g LR Culture Tank. 10+ pounds fiji LR / base rock. Assorted hitch hiking inverts

I have tons in my tank too. I have always read that they are just fine in your tank. The only problem is when you grab a piece rock that zaps you! It hasn't happened to me yet but I have seen pictures....OUCH!

Unless I capture him, any pics are likley to be red light biased. Heh heh. Any dune fans out there? I don't remember if I said on this thread or not but I decided to name him Leto Atreides. Will try to get that pic
