I cannot house any more plecos - I still breed a few albino bristlenose for a local shop, but the blasted elegant ones are too testy and the blasted thibgs live forever. It is bad enough that I am old, but to have a significant percentage of my tank occupied by over 20 year old fish is ridiculous.

I've got the goldspotted one on the bottom left of those pics. He's about a foot long & 20 years old...

Unfortunately, a multi-pleco tank can result in battered to dead fish and always results in a glass-walled cesspool.. Big plecs are big poopers.
IMHO, plecos and scats are the messiest fish in captivity

Have you ever seen plecos fight? It's pretty funny to watch these sedentary fish going at it. Had to be separated, of course.

I had a Mbu once and my Plecy got really teritorial and attacked the Mbu by thrashing it with the side of it's body. It then sucked a piece of skin off the Mbu's back. The mbu never recovered and died.Pufferpunk wrote:Have you ever seen plecos fight? It's pretty funny to watch these sedentary fish going at it. Had to be separated, of course.

Awww... that's sad.
My big Goldspot is constantly pushing Filbert out of his cave. Definitely the meanest fish in my house!
