Re: mbu puffers with discus fish
Id be afraid to do that with such expensive fish. Every puffer at some point most likely will attack its tankmates.

Re: mbu puffers with discus fish
Considering discus require pristine water & puffers are such high waste-producing fish, it seems like a really bad idea for the discus.

I wouldn't try it for the reasons listed above. Also, discus can be such spooky fish and if they're living with a large predator then I think both species will be unnecessarily stressed.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Re: mbu puffers with discus fish
the tank size and massive filtration required to house a mbu alone needs an almost infinite budget. to then want to house discus would require masses more. if we consider a mbu alone requires 1000 gallons and we puffer owners aim for about 10x that in filtration circulation. thats 10000 gph whoa. not an easy task
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

NIMFT. Pairing rather calm and sedate placid spooky fish with a giant predator is just not in the cards.
