Just picked this guy up from my LFS about a month ago, and since then he has really started to come out of being secluded all the time and show some real personality
Very cool puffer, although the distributor sent them to us as "Black River Puffer" which is Monotrete palambagensis, am I right in assuming that he is a turgidus or brown puffer and not a Palembang Puffer?
this is Lurch
thank you!
Don't cross the road, if you can't get out of the kitchen.
Very nice puffer well done! Looks like a turd (lol) to me having said that I am not sure 100% one of the other guys will give you a definate answer shortly.
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

I think your right in your ID of him being a Turgidus, Red Eyes and that Green Band across his forehead seem to match the puffer here:
My Puffers: Puffers I have kept: T lineatus T miurus A modestus T biocellatus C valentini C coranata C papuan C lorteti DPs suvattii burrfish T niphobles
Wow your turgidus looks wonderful! Mine has spots at 2.5inch. Will the spots change when turning into adulthood or does all turgidus have different outer appearance?
