Mortimer I guess is happy enough with his worms, squid, and shrimp, and has been a perfect gentleman with his tankmates. This video is kind of funny because he swims into substrate in the corner (sometimes he's not that graceful) and then swims off like he's mad about it.

I do actually constantly have to trim the plants, and I have a spare tank with just the trimmings in, however, one of my cats, the clumsy stupid one, knocked something over that got into that tank, and I did a giant water change, but since the liquid had sugar in it, I think some white fungus started growing on all the surfaces. So I manually removed as much of it as I could, and did another large water change and this morning the water was yellowish green. So it might be a bit before I can get this issue under control. But to warn you I do have snails in all of my fw tanks so I cannot guarantee that it will be snail free.

I just checked on the tank, it's disgusting, like someone had diarrhea into the tank. Doing a 100% water change tomorrow morning. :/

Lol, I know, so glad it's just an extra tank with plants, no fish. Also glad it doesn't stink.

Mortimer ate 3 barbs; so the remaining 4 have moved out.
The flag fish are larger and he doesn't stalk them, but I'll keep an eye on them.
I bought the barbs as a group, but on close inspection, some of them I noticed were *special*, I also notice all but one of the special ones were eaten, and the one remaining has a partial tail. I mean special like deformed.

And here is a recent picture, my sword plants are making babies:
