the tannis i believe might also lower the ph over time if not taken out of the water. they could upgrade their tank and use that as a holding tank until the tannis is done leaching out :)

There are people who love to learn. It's exciting to them and they truly enjoy new discoveries and are always on the quest for knowledge.

There are people who always need to feel as though they are right, just for the sake of being right. These people do not love to learn, perhaps from some deficiency, and maybe the awareness of this deficiency fuels that desire of feeling important, and superior in some way, despite mostly being wrong. (Because they do not like to learn, so they learn very little) I'm not certain if these people are conscious of their ignorance, and are stubborn to uphold their false pride and self-righteousness, but it could be that they believe they are right. Similar to people with certain mental illnesses that also have anasognosia, a lack of insight and awareness of their illness. More than likely, it's just simply a refusal to accept truths that would potentially hurt their self worth.

Some people love to teach, these people also of course love learning, but want to extend that joy and enlighten others. However, in order to be an effective teacher, the "student" cannot be one of those people who always have to be right, and and do not love to learn. Not only will time be wasted as they will not learn, but they will also project their insecurities on to the "teacher", such as accusing them of just wanting to be right, or bossy, or that they are just trying to belittle them in order to feel better about themselves, often with a slew of irrelevant insults, completely unaware of the irony.

I looked into getting a 16 gallon biorb, but I was only going to put one or two dps in it with no other fish. I have since realized that the biorb is a terrible tank for any puffers. And 1x a month water changes would just seem absurd to me. However, while I agree with you, arguing with this person would be futile. Some people approach things from an attitude that everything is relative and a matter of opinion and you simply cannot teach those people anything. As unfortunate as it is, you cannot waste your breath arguing with those people.

I really need to get on there more often! Holy cow! *goes and does modly duties*
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."
