I HATE SAND RIGHT NOW

Post by Newbie »

So, I was just chilling and decided to add sand. I'm a fool. I cleared tank, Removed my two gsps, and removed my awful, chipping gravel. Enter 'live' sand. (I only got a packet of bacteria with it so woohoo) Poured sand in without rinsing and sifting. :'( A day later- tank is still at two inch visibility. Any ideas on clearing it faster?

What is your tank's salinity level?
What are your water parameters?
What type of filter do you have?

Add cotton filter floss to a HOB filter & keep changing it out as it clogs up.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

I'm having the same problem. The tank will clear up in a day, but if I move anything in the tank it gets crazy cloudy. I have some cotton filter floss so I will try that. Thanks for the advice. I will let you know how it works out.
