Crab fought back

Post by bertie 83 »

So my fahaka had a red clawed crab for dinner and as he got it the crab fought back. So he got the crab, the crab got a grip on his face , he swam for a couple of seconds with dead crab hanging on, he consumed all but the remaining claw stuck to his face he just swam round trying to get it,,,,,, so after me panicking for a while wondering what to do I hooked the claw off with a net it looked painful but left no mark or anything! So if this were to happen again what would you guys suggest or did I do the right thing? Has anyone experienced anything like this? He looks fine just chillin digesting this meal will post vid when Internet back on can't do anything on this phone lol

A lot of folks will rip off the claws before feeding them. That's really about all I could think of doing.
You really only need to break off one side of the claw so it can't clamp. But, the whole claw is eaier to remove.

Oh, wait till Dadof4 gets here! He has a great story about Leon!
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Happens to Filbert too occasionally. I think crabs have the right to fight a good fight. Filbert can handle it & eventually... he always wins.
