Beautiful, complex and discussed here. The marine fish and reef section.

I have several of these snails in my 10 marine tank that holds liverock that Balki is afraid of (it has many small holes in them). There are two larger snails, and these small purple/pink snails. They have really long antennae and long bodies, the flesh is white, the shell is pink and oblong, flat-ish, with a spiral. I believe they are Stomatella Varia, I want to know if my gsp can eat them without breaking his teeth.
Here is a short video:

And a pic:

It's supposedly a common hitch hiker, so has anyone here had any problems with their puffer eating them?

No problem for the fish. The snails, however, are quite useful - they are good algae eaters.
Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he'll eat for weeks.

Thank you. I won't intentionally feed him these, but when switching out live rock, I wanted to make sure he wouldn't break his teeth in case some get In the main tank. They're pretty cute

I like them too.
My uncle has a really neat reef tank (its like 10 years old too) and has some really red snails like that.

After reading this post yesterday I had a dream about these snails...

Just a simple dream wondering what they were called as well.
