Thank you very much, but I've been here all along. Not much lately, I agree with that, but I drop in here every day. Well, right now I am on vacation, but I don't leave TPF anyway.

And, I just have to tell: There's an LFS here that has a porcupine puffer. I've never before actually seen one. Awww, it's so cute, even though it has pretty bad IPs. You can be certain that I told the LFS what was wrong with the fish. They knew it was ill, but not what was wrong. Luckily he is still eating, so I hope they can help him back to health. I wish I had room for one (and had a SW tank up and running). If I could, I would have taken him with me back home.

We're always careful with any visible cuts going in the fish tank. Not paranoid but careful, especially since I'm immunocompromised. With any luck I'd be getting that nasty resistant form of it

I'm kind of scared that those are the best horse and riding videos of her. Definitely cringe-worthy for so many reasons.

I get that often at my LFS too. I tell them how to treat & 2 weeks later the puffer looks worse. I ask why they haven't treated him & they tell me there is no time. Then one day, the puffer is gone. They say they sold it--right...

Actually I don't mind so much that they don't know, as long as they listen to advice. And they really sounded like they did when I told them. And of course I hope so for the poor porc's sake. I still wish I could take him home... Or that I had brought with me some Wormer Plus. Actually I have brought with me that on vacation several times! It's been because I've been e-mailing with new puffer owners with puffers with IPs, and no meds to cure them. Unfortunately there's no med good enough in Norway, and it's illegal to import meds for animals (but it's legal to import for humans, with some limitations, and inside the European Union). So if you want a med against IPs that is working good enough (without going to the vet, who really doesn't know, and probably can't prescribe the right thing either), you have to kind of smuggle it into the country. I always ask the place I buy the meds to not write "fish meds" on the custom clearence note on the packet. I haven't had any problem so far. So, if I talk to another puffer owner in need, I sometimes offer them some of mine, to save the fish. And if I am going on vacation to the same area, I bring some with me. And then I tell them where and how to get meds to have in store for next time they need it. But this time there's been no need, and the Wormer Plus stayed at home when I went on vacation. I really wish I had brought it, because I really want that fish to become well.

...but unfortunately neccessary, if you want to save your fish with IPs. Aaaand, if I want meds for IPs for my dog, I go to Sweden to buy them (I live only 30-45 minutes of driving away from the Swedish border). You do get IP meds for dogs and cats in Norway, but you have to go to the vet to get a prescription. You don't have to do that in Sweden... Except those two things, I am a very lawful citizen.

I've gotten some pretty awful infections from zoanthids & cuts.

Found a big pustule on my arm. It was hiding over the tattoos so I didn't see it right away. Not sure if it was from dragging out heavy rock infested with dying palys or a spider bite. I did get encrusted eyes for 2 days after that.
