puffer baby sitting

Post by Adam K »

im going on vacation in about a month for 10 days, i really hate feeding my puffer feeders but i have a smaller tank where i can put some feeders and make sure there healthy enough to be eaten by my puffer...while im gone can i just put 5 or 6 of them in the tank with him or do i need some1 to feed him, his light is on a timer so theres no worries about that

to my surprise when he is no longer hungry he actually wont eat anymore so this is why im thinking it might work

any thoughts would be appreciated i just want my little guy to stay fed while i am gone

No, it is a bad idea.

Should he kill some and leave them to rot in the tank, he likely will not survive the pollution.

What kind of puffer? Can't you get a neighbor/friend to pop in every 3 days to feed pre-measured freeze-dried foods?

I'd feed him well before you leave (do a 50% WC after feeding) & leave him for the 10 days. They are sedentary fish with a very low metabolism.

since its not OT, Ill just ask here

PP what about stuffing my fahaka(who is lazy as hell) and being gone for a week? I figure he will be ok, cause he moves less then my abei. And my Abei just lays in his cave most the time, when I do see him out he moves very slow, only time he moves in a hurry is when food is involved

If you absolutely have no one whom you can trust, then most fish can go a week without eating.
