I want a dwarf puffer, help :/

So I recently discovered dwarf puffer fish and I have wanted a fish very badly, these fish are just so cool and I like the fact that they have personalities and seem to be quite smart. I am okay with the upkeep of the fish but I just need help understanding fish a little more. I need a link to cycling to start my tank, and a list of all the things a dwarf needs. I know a heater, tank, lots of foliage for hiding, a good filter.

I have a 10 gallon, should I get 1 or 2 puffers?
I have also looked at bio wheel filters, are these as good as they sound, It would greatly help with nitrates and ammonia?
What kind of heater? just everything I really neeed to know aobut puffers. Please and thank you.

There are fantastic articles in there about how to set up a terrific home for your future puffers. This article is specifically on Dwarf Puffers: library/puffers-in-focus/dwarfpuffercare/. I used this site as my "puffer bible" to learn about the two types of puffers I now keep. Good for you for doing your research first!

For a 10 gallon tank, you could comfortably house two DPs, but I recommend decorating the tank heavily so they can establish their own territories and don't have to see one another all the time. I had 5 baby DPs to start with in a 29 gallon tank, but they turned out to be 3 males and 2 females. I had to take two of the males back to the LFS because the fights were getting so nasty.

Yes 2 will be fine in there you seem to have it pretty much sussed. Can't comment on the bio wheel filters as never used one I use eheim eccos on all my small tanks. As for a heater buy the best quality you can afford most mid to top end heaters are really good and reliable
