i live in central new york and theres been a heat wave here the past few days . 90+ degrees
My 60gal GSP brackish tanks temp has gone up to 85 degrees. its usually 80 degrees.
Ive shut off the heater, kept the light off, left the hood open, closed the blinds so no sun hits the tank.
tried floating a few small bags with ice in the tank, nothing will bring the temp down.
How bad is this for the little guy? anyone have any sugestions or should i just let the water cool down
with the weather.
as far as i can tell fish seem fine . acting normal. Eating normal
I read on another forum to take a bottle filled with ice and float it in tank.
Wanted to get some opinions before i did that

Get a 6" clamp on fan to go across the top of the tank. Keep the water level down, as puffers are great jumpers. Keep a close eye on the SG, as the evap will cause the salinity to become more concentrated. I am finding myself topping off my reef tank 2x/day, now that I have the fan running. Running an air conditioner in the room your tank is in, is also helpful.
