SW tank cleanup crew?

What type of saltwater creatures can I use to keep my tank clean that won't be eaten by my GSP? Also to keep my sand from compacting.

Dont know about tankmates

But from what I understand, once the sand is seeded the worms and what not that came off the LR will keep the sand turned over, kinda like MTS's

Depending on its size try turbo snails and blue legged hermits ! My porcupine is 2 inches and dont mess with them yet!

MTS do not go into anoxic areas of a deep sand or gravel bed. The tales that they do are unfortunately mythology. SW has much better critters to do the jobs.

But for puffers in a single-tank system, I would keep the sand bed shallow. I'd use ~1/2", but some folks go up to an inch. Beyond that I would do so only in a sump/refugium with basically micro-flora and -fauna only. But I do admit I love displays with two to three sumps or refugia attached - it is a thing with me. I even do it in FW.

Workin on adding a fuge to my 75 g tank ( in addition to my sump) ! There just to cool looking along with the benifits they provide!

I have an urchin and a large Hermit crab....all doing well.

Sleeper goby!! I have one in with Camille and he keeps the sand stirred up like you wouldn't believe. He also eats everything that isn't bolted down - useful since puffers are messy eaters and all.
