Re: New tank, interested in puffers
DP's arent slouches. The only other fish I would suggest would be a group of Oto catfish once the tank has been up and running for a while. For what ever reason DP's leave Otos alone, but will attack other fish no matter the size

Re: New tank, interested in puffers
The reason i ask is, and dont fuss at me, i intend to do a fish in cycle as i always have, and obviosuly the DP's would die if i used them.

Re: New tank, interested in puffers
whats PP? All my other fish eat it if i cut it up small enough for them to eat it, its kinda big. My old GSP would eat it if i held it in the water but he ate so weird, he was picky as crap, he wouldnt eat but like once every 3 days and he acted like he didnt like anything, so weird, i hope my DP's dont do that

PP is PufferPunk. She says as a treat its ok, but as a staple its bad. That it can cause lock jaw

I suppose thats why the call it fish treats on the can LOL! maybe thats why my other puffer died? I dont think il run outta snails for sure, there everywhere in my 5.5 gallon haha. Will there be any chance my DP's will breed? and if they do should i remove the fry?

You can easily cycle with fish food, instead of ammonia. Please don't use fish!

Re: New tank, interested in puffers
How long will it take to cycle with fish food cause i intend to get my tank setup let it run a week then go get my first fish.
Re: New tank, interested in puffers
Why don't you find a place to get some used media from? Other hobbyists or a store would probably be happy to share used media, filter squeezings, or even dirty gravel with you. There really isn't an excuse to put fish through cycling.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.
