Odessa barbs are cool fish. They are either mutations which were fixed long ago by hobbyists, perhaps an unknown hybrid, or something from the wild with no natural source or history known. But they are very very nice fish, not used or seen as much as they should be. One of these days I am going to have to keep another tank of them, but i rarely see them around here.

So very little to barely any new algae growth, and my plants are showing new growth. :D
My NO3 was <5 ppm this morning, but it was dose day, do it's now at 10 ppm, KH at 5°, the tank loses /uses about 1° every 2 days, so dosing is easy to figure out.
I too very much so enjoy these odessa barbs!
Beautiful, friendly, comical, algae eating fish :)

I strongly agree on the barbs. I really need to keep those again - it has been too long since I have had them.

Cichlid swap tomorrow. Hoping to get another Ornate. This time he's going in the tetra tank. No more $$$ giant "worms" for Filbert!

Lol!
I'm still treating Mortimer for his mysterious tail biting affliction. :/
Tank seems to be going along well, had to trim some plants, they're growing so fast now.

Some good news about the cichlid, the LFS had a male in quarantine and sold the pair to an experienced cichlid keeper. So fairy tail ending for her!

Darn, they're only selling cichlids & it's not a swap, it's an auction. :(

It's only 3". I'm gonna have to trade him in soon... too bad I don't have an extra FW tank for him. :(

Them bichir's will try to suck anything down reguardless what size of fish it trys to eat..lol. Mainly a night when all the tetra's are sleeping. You be surprised what a little bichir will try.
