Seven, those Fluval G-serious always reminded me of bread machines rather then aquarium filters...lol.

Hadla, Canister filters carry alot more filter media then HOB filters, easy to hide, and some are super quite. My SUNSUN canister filter is super quite, very easy to clean, and holds a good amount of media.

Acording what size and brand you are buying. I bought a SUNSUN HW-303 canister filter with 3 baskets with 375 gph for $65.00 brand new on ebay. You can find the HW-304 which is a 4 basket, built in uv with an on and off switch, 530gph, and all the filter media for about $119.00 free shipping from Koienterprises. Best deal that I have seen for a good sized canister. If you are interested then I could send the link.

Yes, they are gravity drivin and is a pressure filter. I really dont see a need in canister filters in smaller tanks but a big plus in mid and large tanks though, imo. Fluval (same makers of AC), Eheim, Marineland, Rena, and SunSun are just to name afew main canister brands.
