Well I went to my apartment on my 30min lunch break to get my cell phone charger, and when I got there I noticed Bloats tank was low on water. So naturally I grabbed my trusty 1 gallon milk jug, filled it up and dumped so water in the tank so the wet/dry would stop making so much noise. Afterwards I flipped on his light to show my gf how much clearer the tank was since the addition of the AC 110 she got me for my Bday. Well after I turned it on I noticed the tank had a white haziness to it. My first thought was just microbubbles from the wet/dry. Looked closer and nope that wasnt it. So I went and looked on the milk jug and noticed the expiration date was may28th, the one I had been using for topping off was may6th(dont ask me how i remembered lol). Yep sure enough used the wrong milk container. The one I used is the one I had finished off a few days ago and had been left out, so it had some rotten milk in the bottom. So I called my supervisor and told him that I was going to be about 30 mins late getting back to work lol. Did a 50% water change in about 40mins(usually takes me an hour).
I dont think a lot got in there to start with maybe just a teaspoon or so, but with how sensitive puffers are and the fact it was rotten milk, I just couldnt chance it. Im going to do another change tomorrow and hope all is well. Now I cut the top off my good milk jug so I dont make that same mistake EVER

I think I might have noticed that rotten smell.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

I have a supernatural sense of smell, it's 99% just plain annoying, but helps in rare situations.

That is hilarious...
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Unfortunately, human beings are not exactly perfect. I have wiped out two liked tanks(40-long & 33XL, breeder and grow-out) by grabbing the wrong bottle - Excel does not do the same job as Prime.

Re: stupid moment of the week/mouth/year
hopefully everything is ok! so far the worse i have done was use my "old water" labeled bucket to use for new water being put in. i have left the bucket filling up in the kitchen and heard after a minute or two my roommate say "oh man!... Justin!" because the hose somehow came out of the bucket
