aquaclear makes great hob filters.....what size tank.

With puffers you wanna shoot for 10x turn over..aka 30gallon tank, you want a filter that pumps at least 300gph

Id say an Aquaclear 70, not overly expensive and does great with filtration and can do 300gph.

I have a AC110 on my big tank and love it, its been up for less then 2 weeks and im already thinking about getting a second one and taking down my wet/dry

i always keep a mechanical and a wet/dry on all tanks so i get a good mix of filtration, bio is well worth it on top of a good mech filter imho. much better than 2 mech filters. my mech runs about 4x aquarium volume per hour and mech 2x thats what works for me. u running b/w or s/w may be a diff story lol
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

+1 on the AC. I use a 110 on my 20g. Puffers are messy!

you could move all the media to the new filter, i dont believe that will harm the cycle at all

2nd buying an Aquaclear I have a 50 and a 20 on my 20 long.

But you cannot just swap them and put media into the Aquaclear since penguin filters are designed to have almost all the nitrifiers in the biowheel. So you will have to run them together until the Aquaclear is seeded.
20 gallon on its way to being heavily planted with one Monotrete Cochinchinensis and RCS as snacks/clean up crew - Puff tank
40 gallon South American Planted Tank.
