Wonderful! Now get him to love them enough to be sure they are happy with enough swimming space.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: water proofing a tank?
For how many GSP's? The standard is minimum 30 gallons per GSP. I have my 2-inch and 1.5-inch GSP's living peacefully in a 55 gallon currently. But I'm living in a one bedroom apartment until September. They will definitely be upgraded after the move. Always keep in mind the bare minimum will *work* but of course your GSP's will definitely love you (and flourish) in more swimming space and living room!My HD PVR wrote:You mean a 120 gallon? yeah, that might happen...

HD if they are in the basement they will be sitting on the foundation of the house so no worries. you could go as big as you want and not worry about weight
And with a 120 you could do 4 GSP's I would wonder to guess

Yeah you gotta jump on deals like that! I'm really happy your dad's getting into this though. There'll be another one... Just make sure he jumps on it right away.

Re: water proofing a tank?
yeah definitely! my roommate like two or three years ago found on CL, 110 gallon, tank, stand, glass lid(no lights), already drilled, water pump, piping. pretty much everything but decor and lights for $150! we were looking on CL one night at like 10pm, he read the ad and it said nothing about time restrictions on calling so i made him call right then and there at 10pm lol and told him this is probably a deal you will never see again for this price. the guy didnt mind and he said someone actually called at midnight that was very serious too but we had already claimed itRTR wrote:+1 to PP's comment.

Darn, a failed post split. Sorry!water proofing a tank?

Is there any way to water proof a tank? Or a way to tell if a tank is water proof? My friend has a spare 30g laying around, not sure if its water proof or not...
