if you do see it leaking, get some aquarium grade or better silicon, and apply a good amount and let dry for at least 48 hours

I'd remove all the old silicone 1st, before resealing it.

If you have a garage or basement, set the tank on some newspapers before you fill it, and don't get then wet while filling. After the week or more test, check the newspapers carefully - slow leaks that evaporate quickly will still pucker the paper.

=) that's what I did with mine and standard paper towels.

It took me years to figure that one out. That technique dates way back to metal-framed tanks, and it still works, but thankfully is less often needed. Modern tanks really are better.
