my puffer needs a friend=]

Post by volcomkrew4life »

So my green spotted puffer has been all alone for a while now and I've been thinking about getting another fish or two to throw in there with him. He's in a 20 gallon tank with a S.G. of around 1.015. Is there any type of brackish fish I could put in with him? I was thinking maybe another GSP but I know they get very territorial and can be aggressive to each other. (I would upgrade them to a larger tank when they got a little bigger. The one I have now is only a bit less than 2 inches long). And I know once the GSPs get big they need to be in full marine conditions so I would need a fish that can tolerate high end brackish water to marine conditions (if a type of fish even exists)

If you're considering tank mates, I'd wait until he's in SW & get him in a 55g. Then you could try some damselfish or a tomato clownfish.

GSP's are territorial predators by nature. I seriously doubt one would tolerate tankmates in that small of an aquarium for very long. I'd upgrade first.
