Abei Puffer

Post by gnod85 »

hi everyone

got myself abei puffer finally in my 20L and was curious about lighting.

i know they're active during the night, so i was wondering if anyone uses moon lights for them?
my solarmax didn't come with any moon lights so i'm considering purchasing a small separate one.

Congrats! I do believe that fish belongs in a 30g though. Lets see some pics, when he's settled in.

Moonlights or a red light would be cool.

for the abei i think i've visited and called about 15-20 different LFS. no lies
i didn't find them in the first try but a place called Aqua Hut deep in long island was kind enough to take my name down and call me if it was available. The next day, they called me and ordered 5. i took 2.

PP i've read that 25 was minimum for the abe's. i don't foresee the 20L being an issue once i put more plants in there. if absolutely necessary down the road, i may have to sell one of them once they get bigger.

Are you keeping both in there? I'm pretty sure they'll kill each other. These are active fish--I just think 20g isn't enough swimming room.
