Hello help with 36 gallon set up

Hello-
I have a 36 gallon tank I would like to turn into a brackish tank for a figure 8 puffer or more than one? I was at a pet store today and also say a butis butis (crazy fish) and would like to know if they would be good tank mates and what else would work? all suggestions thanks in advance =)

its hard to say if a pair would work, but I believe you could probably get a pair in there. Just, make sure to have plenty of breaks of site.

Tanks mates are hit or miss. Just give plenty of hiding space!

yeah the sites i saw said they are, but i would not recommend mixing them with fig 8s

Also, the way it lurks for prey spells trouble for an F8 might bite it or in worst case if the butis butis tries to eat the F8, it will die.

You could do a pair of F8's, and some bumblebee or knight gobies.

If added all at the same time (either to a fully cycled tank, or w/Bio-Spira), you could even keep 3 F8s in a tank that size. Still might have a grumpy one in the bunch...
