Purple Duckweed?
Has anyone ever seen purple duckweed before? This is the second time ive infested my tank with duck weed
(the first time i had a massive die off and a lot of the living turned into food for the silver dollars) and the first time there was no purple DW, just a lot of green that quickly died.

There are a number or red to purple varieties or cultivars, most are pretty high-light requiring. My usual moderate lighting causes them to revert to green.

Re: Purple Duckweed?
you and me both xray.
Right now i have pretty soft lights on my duckweed, and im thinking of upping my current cfls too. but being that they are on the top of the water, im worried that strong lights meant to pierce to the bottom would be too much
