Do I need to "Feed" my live rock?
I have live rock and I keep hearing that I need to add iodine and calcium to keep the rock in god shape? Do I need to put that stuff in the water for them?

The rock itself is cultured and has colonies of beneficial bacteria by the millions. As long as you keep your stocking level in check, feeding good amounts of food, and the bacteria will be nicely fed on ammonia from fish poo and other wastes. Now if you had coral, then you would need to find food for them.

I don't think God really cares whether you feed your rock or not. He's got other things to worry about.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

God? God has no influence in my life what so ever... there is no god! and even if their was... the question wasn't "does god care about me feeding my live rock?"... to the aquarium I am god... I'm the one who keeps the lives in that tank alive, I'm the one who feeds them and cares for them! Look at the world, you really think that there is a god "caring about other things"? tarp no! if there really was a god he would have never put the disease of human race on this earth to begin with! It's called EVOLUTION... SCIENTIFIC FACT! people who believe in god make me sick!

Let's just hope she's just having a bad day. Her other posts are pretty sensible.

awww u guys are so nice. Sorry to snap... I'm not usually like that. Just having troubles is all. Again, I appolagize. Hey, I found little tan colored anemoney looking things on one piece of my live rock... about 5 of them... cool or what!?
umm.. what do I do anout them? Just let them be or should I feed them like a normal anenomy? Just noticed them a couple days ago. Maybe only about the size of about a centimeter.

poke it
it could be aiptasia
I posted a similar question on another forum .. here was the answer:
"It retracts, it's brown or translucent, and it looks like aiptasia, so kill it"
but mine are MUCH smaller at this point.. maybe 3 mm
