Mbu puffer for my friend

Post by My HD PVR »

My friend is getting a 300 gallon tank... He kind of wants a Mbu, but theres an alligator gar, redtail cats, and black ghost knife, would it for one, fit in the tank, and 2 get along with the others?

Wouldn't even come close to fitting.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

I've seen tanks that size on Creaigslist.

They are pricey.

No joke about finding a 1000 gal. tank. I know its very hard to find one in these parts too. I would not do it because it would be like feeling up a swimming pool plus a 50% WC or so would really be a long time doing unless he was tons of spare time to kill all the time...lol. Way too high maintance in the first place too.

most 1k tanks are custom made/ordered tanks. If/when I ever get a house of my own, I wanna build a custom tank

That's not even big enough for the redtail catfish. He'll need 1000g just for that!

It saddens me when people keep Mbu. I personally think they should be left in the wild or live in public aquariums.

Not to mention the Alligator gar! They are in our lakes here. I've caught a few...they get huge! And ugly as sin! You can always tell when a gar has entered your fishing hole...everything stops biting...the gar has chased everything off. Most people just kill them when they catch them because they can tear you up getting them off the line. As long as they are around you better not count on having fresh caught fish for dinner. I have heard gar are good eating though...if you bleed them properly.
