1" fig 8

Post by justincase315 »

Hi, i just bought a juvi fig 8

He's about an inch big in a 10g tank, my question is, when do i turn it into a brackish tank? and can i use real sea water instead of marine mix? because theres a LFS near my place that sells sea water by the gallon at a reasonable price.

Welcome,

10 gal tank in to small for your Puff. Transition to BW should start ASAP

Sea salt like instant ocean is good , aquarium salt will not raise SG

its temporary, anyway, so sea water for making brackish water is fine??? because i read that brackish water is in between fresh and open sea water, so real sea water is ok right?

You would need to mix the SW up with FW to make in brackish - not keep him in full marine conditions.

Right, do not keep F8 in full marine. When I used to keep F8 they were in BW with SG 1.005/1.006.

with 1.005 you could keep some of the FW plants
