Hey , i just started looking into puffers and i dont know much about them >.< i was hoping you guys can help
Just got a Figure eight Puffer today and he's in my 40Litre tank(Brackish water) with lots of hiding places . Its been about 8 hours now and all he's been doing is staying at the back of the tank (where the heater is). i am just wondering if this is normal because i have 3 other red eye puffers (in seperate tanks) and they were fine after an hour or two .
welcome! id wait a day or two before actually worrying that much. the first 12-24 hours should be tank light free to help with any stress. how did you cycle the tank? do you have the parameters of your water? just to make sure things are ok from that end.
How was your tank cycled? One of my f8's always hangs out in the back and is skittish, the other is always out begging for food. I think it's just their personalities. Have you checked your parameters? Was this f8 in brackish water at the store? How did you acclimate him to your tank? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to help figure out if there is indeed a problem.

It's a little too small. How is it decorated? If there isn't much cover for it to feel safe to retreat to, then it will hide behind what little there is. Also, why is this in the FW puffer forum? I'll move it to BW.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...
