Puffer Nomenclature confusion

Post by J-P »

dovla935 has got me looking into this because I am curious now:

The PufferPedia: Monotrete Palembangensis
The photos in that section: Tetraodon palembangensis

Fishbase:
Scientific Name: Valid Name:
Monotrete palembangensis Tetraodon palembangensis
also
Tetraodon palembangensis Tetraodon palembangensis

Family:
Tetraodontidae

So where did Monotrete come from is everything should read Tetraodon? :banned:
if you follow me, you avoid stepping in the crap that I just did...

Fishbase is not up to date in that case...

See forum search for more details.
Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he'll eat for weeks.
