Fahaka Puffers
Fahaka Puffers
Can someone tell me what the chances of my 3 fahakas surviving together as they get older. Only had a few figure 8 puffers they are nothing like these little guys.
Re: Fahaka Puffers
From what I understand they are aggressive with tank mates so not likely, plus its reccomended 120 US gallons for one, so you'd need a hell of a big tank

I wouldn't expect them to survive together even as juvies. Please separate into 3 tanks, before you have 3 dead puffers.

I have a 180gallon and a empty 120. They are about 1.5inches. At night they huddle up and sleep. are you sure they'll kill eachother at this size?

A real close friend of mine is the owner of Ninja MOnkey aquirium. He knew I wanted a fahaka so he placed an order for 3 thinking one might be dead when received it. Ive been doing everything hes told me for a week. 10 percent water change every 3 days. Cant put them in the 180 yet they are to small to go in with the african cichlids

Re: Fahaka Puffers
99% chance they will kill any fish you put them with. What size tank are they in?
You need to bring back 2 of them

Re: Fahaka Puffers
Atleast put a divider in a mid or large tank temporary so they decide to turn on each other until you get them into their own tanks. Btw, the guy that ordered mine here while back told me that their supplier said their fahaka's had a very high death rate when small, from IP's more likely.

Re: Fahaka Puffers
Does anyone have the answer my orginal question? When they get bigger and in a 180 will all 3 be able to live together if they are fed enough food?

I already told you, if you keep them together they won't make it to adulthood.

Re: Fahaka Puffers
I definitely agree with PP that 3 fahakas in a 180 is a death sentence waiting to happen... i have one in my 200G and i think its just about right for a fahaka to live comfortably for life... but 3 in a 180 is seriously pushing your luck in the long run...

Re: Fahaka Puffers
+1 tp all PP's comments.
And I have kept three Fakakas at once, but with all 3 always in individual tanks. They ended up in 2 each 120s and one 180. All BTW w/50% weekly water partials.
