MBU tank size question...

Post by Homer »

Okay, so i just want to ask the people of TPF, if you were to own an MBU, what would be the absolute min. tank size you would consider keeping one in for life?

Now i'm not asking this because i personally want an MBU, since i would expect nothing less than an 800G would be suitable... but after reading a few threads recently on another forum about 300 - 400G would be enough, or how one member even said i have a 220G which would be big enough to house one i thought to myself "errrr... no..." but since trying to explain that to some of these people is like beating a dead horse i've given up...

So i ask the members of TPF, realistically speaking, what size tank do you personally think would be suitable for a MBU for life? (and i know what pufferpedia says, i just want your opinion)

Thanks...

For me the absolute minimum would be 10X4x4', and I would want significantly larger myself, a multiple of that, if I ever kept another T. mbu - which is highly unlikely. A two-foot high mass fish is not a trivial bioload.

Wish I could afford to house one. Such a beautiful, impressive puffer.
