I said I would never do this and I feel bad for supporting walmarts evil ways...I'm sick to my stomach that the others stand no chance at all though.

Bad thing...good intentions :(
Well, I done a bad thing. My walmart is being remodeled. I walked back to pet supplies and noticed all fish for half off. They had about 8 GSP's....here it comes...I bought 2
. The lady told me the tanks were suppose to be removed last night but the contractors did not get to it. I asked what they were doing with all the fish and all she said was that the vendor wouldn't take them back. So I said they're being flushed aren't they...she didn't say a word which answered my question
. I picked the two healthiest ones, so we shall see. All I have is a 20 gallon for now, but I suspect I might lose one if not both
. Treating for IP's immediately and getting them in light brackish tonight. If I can get them healthy one will be rehomed with a good friend of mine.
I said I would never do this and I feel bad for supporting walmarts evil ways...I'm sick to my stomach that the others stand no chance at all though.

Re: Bad thing...good intentions :(
Almost got the "hospital" tank up and soaking some bloodworms in meds. I hope they eat. I'll try to post pics later. I have them floating in my f8 tank right now. Fugu and Gizzy could care less but the GSP's are trying to attack them through the bag...as sick as they are, they are feisty! Their colors are even brighter than at the store...probably just the better lighting.

Walmart gives NOTHING away. I can't believe they kept sticking their tanks knowing that they were gonna be taking them down!!! Just another example that WM. Doesn't give a crap! I would have taken them all if I could..at least would have tried to get them healthy and rehomed them. You could tell that they haven't been doing any maintenance on the tanks (probably not feeding either) because the tanks were horrific. At this particular walmart the tanks usually look decent. I put my fingers over the water in the GSP tank and even the sickest ones swam to the top to nibble my fingers looking for food. I don't understand why they can't, at the very least take them to the other walmart that is 10 minutes away!

Re: Bad thing...good intentions :(
They don't care. There was a report on the news once of walmart throwing out out of season closing instead of donating it. What makes it worse is that WM made the employees that were throwing out the clothing cut holes in it before doing so, so people woulnt dumpster dive for them. Well, people did...and found them all cut up. Another example is my sons first bday. He was suppose to get a free mini cake with his big cake. When I went to pick it up there was no second cake. The lady made me one and put a price tag of 1cent on it (I had already taken large cake out of the store) when I went back in to get the little cake I saw the price tag and had to go back to the car to get a penny to pay for my free cake because nothing could leave the store without a receipt! I didn't have time to call a manager as I was already running extremely late, the store was uber busy and I just didn't have time to fight over a penny

Both are eating and hunting snails!!! The healthier of the two still has a nice round belly. The sickest one just gets a lumpy belly then "throws up". The healthier one has pretty color with a nice white belly

They are both still alive! The sicker one no longer has a gray belly. Their colors are already brighter as well...they seem so happy...for the moment!

I would go ahead & treat both for IPs, while they are still eating.

Wow, that's horrid. I dislike Walmart for various reasons, but I've never heard of such blatant disregard for life! I'll never shop there.
Any chance at going back to see what happened to them? I'd ask if they could let you take the fish to another store or the LFS maybe? I know the LFS I go to would take them, they have a pretty good 'open door' policy for fish emergencies. Might be worth a few phone calls at least.
I am glad you rescued them though. Good people should always be sent love and appreciation!
