Moving Porc

Post by Sno »

Right guys im already to move my porc to his new 650 Litre home, i was going to do the drip acclimation again to move im from tank to tank, however someone in the lfs said they are always moving fish from tank to tank and as water parameters are much the same they just put them straight in.

Now his current tank and the new tank have the same water parameter's for PH, Ammonia, Nitrite, however his current tank is a little higher on the nitrates .20+ where as new tank is at .10 and ive used a different salt in the new set up, instant ocean salt in the new and the old tank has always had some cheaper aquaworld reef salt.

Can i just move him from tank to tank? I'm thinking of drip acclimating him anyway but if i can get away with the whole in bucket for an hour or so stress for him id rather do that.

Fish don't need to adjust for nitrate. Just move him over, as long as the temp is the same.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

And i have to say thank you pufferpunk literally each post i make on here you make the effort and are always offering advice and help! i really really appreciate it :D

EDIT: just re tested and the current tanks PH is 8.0 however the new tank is 8.2! shall I drip acclimate or will it still be okay to move him straight over? temp is now 26 in new so only 1C out
