Brackish inverts

I was wondering, ive noticed alot of people seem to keep fig8's with bumblebee gobies, I havent seen many people mention inverts living with fig 8's is this because there arent many with the right SG requirements, or is it simply the fig 8's will just munch them?

I kept ghost shrimp in with my F8 for 2 years until he realized they were food and ate them all. I did have a Marbled crayfish survive in my BW tank for a few months. I had put him in as a snack for puff and he kept himself hidden...didn't notice until I put the moonlights on.

The truth is that most inverts would get eaten

Nerite snails have lasted several years with my F8s. Their shells are too hard to crunch & seem to keep close to the glass.

Good call, PP...totally forgot about Nerites. I have Olive and Zebra nerites in with my F8. The only downside is they will lay little white eggs all over the tank.

I keep ghost shrimp with mine....not really by choice..they're suppose to be food. My f8's won't eat them though.

I kept ghost shrimp in a puffer tank for years... started with ghosties that were longer than the puffers, and even though the ghosties were *supposed* to be food, the puffers didn't eat them. I had enough large ghosties that they started multiplying. The puffers never ate the large ghosties, though they got chased a lot and hid a lot. But the very young ghosties were definitely getting eaten, or there would've been even more in that tank.

I tried a couple of nerites with my figure 8's but they constantly pecked at the snails foot so I took them out and they're now in the mudskipper tank.

The olive Nerites really do keep their shell close to the glass - they expose less foot than any other snail that I have kept. The eggs are a nuisance, but I had rather clean them off than the algae - they do a good job. I've used them with the FW lurkers also.

I guess that I did not have enough piled rock to protect Ghost shrimp with GSPs. They never survived long enough to breed.
