Ares my Fahaka buried.

Post by Srkoe »

Ares was angry because I took everything out of his tank to give it a ghod scrub down. Don't mind the foggy water, the sand was stirred up. I promise his water doesn't look like that! I fixed his hurt feelings with a shrimp though :)

Huh! I didn't know that Fahaka's buried themselves - are they an ambush puffer or do they only do it when threatened?

It's really cool to watch them bury themselves. They take in a huge belly-full of water,..then blow 1 or 2 big puffs into the sand,...then slide right in underneath before the sand settles.

When I saw the title I was thinking "buried" in a different manner.... as in RIP Glad to see I was wrong.

Then when I was reading your post, the picture took a minute to load and the eyes in the sand looked like frog eyes to me for a minute.

He is sure cute peaking out like he is. My GSP has started puffing sand smoth before laying down for naps and bed at night..... didn't realize they did that.

I've only seen Filbert bury himself if he got spooked.
