New to Puffer

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself. Done my research, now looking to locate some healthy DPs.

I'm in the NYC and LI area so if you have any available or know of any places that sells them, please let me know!

Otherwise, any tips or advices would be greatly appreciated. Happy to be a soon to be puffer owner!

Petsmart used to breed them. I'm not sure if they carry them or not anymore but you can start there. Also, ask around if some of the smaller shops might be able to order them for you. Have you read the care & also the sexing articles in our Library here?
Do you haver a cycled tank ready for them? What size?

hi everyone and thanks for your response!

yes i've already cycled my tank, it's a 10 gallon. i know it should be 5 gallons for every puffer, but im hoping that with 1 male and 2 females.. it shouldn't cause aggression.

as for sexing i'm not really expecting much from petland or petco to be able to differentiate. i already read about the differences in male and female so i'm hoping that they're mature and i'd be able to tell the difference right away.

i've called multiple places and have found only one deep in Long Island. He currently has 4 so I'm hoping they're still there when I go this Saturday!

3 females would be better, in a 10g.
