Bamboo
Bamboo
Anyone seen these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JAVA-MOSS-BAMBOO- ... 3a641e8f92 before, I didnt realise bamboo was safe for aquariums, I was thinking these would make interesting decorations that could break the line of sight in my puffer tank.

Re: Bamboo
Yea bamboo is safe in tanks, just as long as the leaves are all above the water line and it's only the stock that's below the water or it will die and rot in your tank. Bamboo is cool, a buddy of mine had his 2.5g beta tank full of bamboo, it was really neat looking.
Re: Bamboo
I actually meant hard bamboo, like the dried out stuff, bamboo canes and such

Re: Bamboo
That is not what's in the link you provided....it is live bamboo covered in java moss
However, dead, dried bambo should be fine in a tank provided it is clean and has not been varnished or treated in any way. Problem is that dead bamboo will float and be difficult to keep in the tank vertically unless secured to a rock.

Re: Bamboo
Oh ok, I assumed they were dead hardened bamboo, I was planning on drilling holes into pieces of slate and fitting the bamboo into said holes. I shall have a rethink on it,
