So far I've gotten the best local advice about GSP's from petsmart (believe it or not) but their selection of lighting has been minimal.
I really can't afford to spend anything but about $45 right now. (I'm sure my husband would want me to spend about $30)
We don't have a lot of income coming in and I'm lucky to be able to spend what I can on these guys at the moment. I wanna give them a good home and I think right now I am doing well. I know there are a few improvements on the decor I can make and I WILL make them as soon as I can, but for now is there any kind of cheap but decent lighting system you can recommend.
I know the feeling of imcome shortage way too well. A brand new glass lid about $25.00 and a light strip alittle more. You could by them seperate for now. That's how I been doing thing myself.

Re: Help me please
Do you have an ACE hardware near you?? Instead of buying a glass lid... you can get 2 pieces of plexi glass cut at ACE. Glass lids being glass always scare me that I will break them into the tank. For the measurements you can take the old lid in with you and have them cut it similar for the filter and heater. For a light you can probably find something on the line of a florescent light... a grow light. If you are not growing plants or corals.... just a light to light up the tank would probably run $10 (Walmart Grow light 24 inch bulb but the fixture is longer) The plexi glass might cost about the same depending on the thickness of the plexi glass..
Just a thought.... budget and all.
