Yes they also require snails. You could setup 1 10g. as a snail tank and the other for the puffs. They are a little less aggressive than some puffs and can be kept with some fish. I would ask some one who has kept them which fish though.

I myself have toyed with getting Dwarf(pea) puffs. Last night my cat killed my gecko so I do have a open tank

. For now, I'm gonna wait a while though.

You could also think about getting a single DP and 3-4 kuhli loaches for a tank. This way you don't have to worry about the sex of the fish and singletons are more interactive.

yah plus you wouldn't have to worry about puffer + puffer stress like what caused me to 1 GSP instead of 2. One just died one day. Then the other quickly got healthier.

I love kuhli loaches! they are awesome looking! I had one that was so active! My other ones usually buried under rocks, and came out from time to time, but my first one NEVER hid. it was AWESOME. That is a great idea- as long as they get along, I would LOVE to house these 2 types together!

I agree with everyone, these loaches are awesome (which is why I had to suggest them)! Just make sure you house them on sand.

Well, I just wanted to say a big THANKS to everyone.. I think i'm going to head over to the freshwater board now for more info on pea puffers. Come look for me over there! I hope to "sea" some of you there! Thanks for all your patience and understanding with everything! I'll let you know if I hear any news on our good friend puff!
